A foreign national can show a Form I-797 Approval of Employment Authorization Document (EAD) Notice instead of the actual EAD as part of I-9 employment eligibility verification - if the notice was issued Dec 1, 2019-Aug 20, 2020 - through 12/20/20. https://bit.ly/34ckdvk

The cruel and inefficient policy of rejecting filings if a blank is seen on a form. For example, if there's no middle name, whereas we used to leave that blank, we must write NA or None or something. Receipt notices come back Fred No Middle Name Smith, or Fred NA Smith. https://www.washingtonpost.com//42de75ca-d811-11ea-930e-d8

The new SEVP* rule described in this blog has thankfully been revoked! The rules are back to the March 2020 Exemption for online classes. Returning students (those with a continuing attendance Form I-20) can continue to enter the US on an F-1 visa for online classes! The July 6, 2020, rule that was threatened would have forced US universities to make sure that each foreign student on an F-1 visa has an in-person class in their schedule. All undergraduates at major universities with hybrid models (online/ in person) would have had to compete even harder for in-person classes for fall 2020. *SEVP is the DHS/Immigration & Customs Enforcement agency for undergraduates on F-1 visas - the Student & Exchange Visa Program. https://www.chavinimmigration.com//pressure-for-in-person-
