On Friday, AAPA’s high school mentors Danny Lau and Chris Chin hosted our high school mentorship workshop with Asian Youth Services Committee attendees for the first time since the pandemic began! To help hone the students' public speaking skills, Danny & Chris engaged in two activities to help the ~30 students with expressing memories and thoughts, as well as describing facts and sensations. These exercises help the students to be active in speaking, even from a computer s...creen during COVID19. We were able to meet the new AYSC board, and also new students who were attending for the first time. The new AYSC president said "Everyone had a great time and we deeply appreciate you two for giving us the opportunity to further our communication skills." Welcome back everyone!

Happy holidays! We’re having a general member meeting on Thursday 12/19 at 6:30pm, location TBD. We hope to see members there!

AAPA hosted our Spring workshop on 04/12/19 with the AYSC students in Oakland! We did 3 activities to sharpen their skills on public speaking, and AAPA members Danny Lau, Christine Oh, and Kris Kiriu led the workshop. At the end of the workshop, AYSC gave each of the mentors AYSC T-shirts. It was a wonderful experience for the students and mentors alike!

On January 18, 2019, AAPA hosted our first High School Mentorship Workshop of 2019. Thank you to our mentors Chris Chin, Danny Lau, Elaine Ma, Christine Oh, and Kris Kiriu for hosting our workshop tonight with Asian Youth Services Committee students!
